Air & Surface testing at symbio
At Symbio, we test for a variety of crucial factors, including airborne contaminants, surface pathogens, and chemical residues, ensuring your spaces meet health and safety standards, some of which are listed below.

Air & Surface Testing Methods
Sedimentation or Passive air sampling Technique:
This technique uses settle plates, where suitable culture media contained in standard Petri dishes is exposed to air for a specific time. The airborne particles settle on the surface of test media plates, which are then sent to the laboratory for testing.
Active air sampling Technique:
This technique uses an air sampler that draws a known air volume over a suitable culture media plate. The plates are then sent to a laboratory for testing. The air sampler required for this testing is available from Symbio and can be rented to collect samples from your facility.
Surface swabs:
Symbio offers a range of surface swabs (e.g., dry, wet, sponge, etc.) that can be used to monitor your facility’s hygiene and cleaning validation. All Symbio sites offer NATA-accredited tests for indicator microbes and pathogens.
Gene sequencing services:
Symbio can provide further in-depth information about the environmental isolates and assist you in making effective decisions to maintain environmental hygiene.
We offer ProMap and Performance Tracing visual tools for effective planning, sampling, and comparison of environmental monitoring program results at your facility.
