Prawn Virus Testing at Symbio Laboratories

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Following Symbio Laboratories’ acquisition of Advanced Analytical Australia Pty Ltd, Symbio Laboratories’ Lane Cove West site will be a DAWR approved laboratory for the testing of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) and Yellow Head Virus (YHV) prawn batches from Wednesday 20th December 2017.

This will see all prawn testing move from our North Ryde site, allowing for prawn samples to be directed to Symbio Laboratories’ state-of-the-art facilities in Lane Cove West, and  providing you with a certified partner for the efficient and affordable release of your product to the Australian public.

What do you need to do?

Whether you are an existing Symbio Laboratories or Advanced Analytical Australia customer, or have never used either laboratory before, to direct your samples to Symbio Laboratories at Lane Cove West you will need to nominate Symbio-Lane Cove as your testing laboratory of choice on a Raw Prawn Sampling Declaration form.

Please note, as per the Department of Agriculture’s website (http://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/industry-advice/2017/121-2017):

“The department will accept test results for samples sent to AAA provided these were directed to this laboratory for testing before 20 December 2017.”
